Net Special Commission Income 5,061.38 5,441.89 7.5 %

EPS (Riyals) 1.61 1.98 22.5 %
EPS Diluted (Riyals) 1.61 1.90 17.8 %

The annual profit rise came thanks to the 26% year-on-year (YoY) hike in the first-half gross special commission income, driven mainly by the impact of interest rate hikes and increased borrowing. Net commission income also climbed 8% YoY for the same period amid higher special commission expenses on term deposits.

This is in addition to the 48% YoY decline in the provision for expected credit losses during the current six-month period, besides a lower provision for Zakat and income tax.

Moreover, the bank’s H1 2024 operating income advanced YoY due to higher net fees and commission income, foreign exchange income and gains on financial instruments at fair value through other comprehensive income (FVOCI).
