Saudi Kayan’s Q3 net profit more than doubles in 9M 2018

Saudi Kayan Petrochemical Co. reported a net profit of SAR 1.81 billion for the first nine months of 2018, more than double its net profit for the same period last year.

 

The firm attributed the jump in earnings to improved operating performance in most plants, leading to an increase in production and sales quantities. Also, average selling prices rose for the period despite a rise in feedstock prices.

Net profit in Q3 rose about 24 percent year-on-year (YoY) to SAR 472 million on an increase in production and sales quantities and higher selling prices.

 

On a quarter-on-quarter basis, net profit halved in Q3 compared to the previous quarter due to a decrease in selling prices and higher feedstock prices.
