Methanol Chemical Company (Chemanol), a producer of Methanol and Formaldehyde in Saudi Arabia, reported a net loss of SAR 15 million for first quarter, compared to a net profit of SAR 24.2 million for the same period in 2014.

 

This quarter's loss was mainly attributed to a sharp drop in selling prices for the company’s products, lower sales, and higher input prices.

 

Administrative expenses also increased, the company added.

 

Compared to Q4-2015, the company reported lower losses attributed to a drop in financial charges and Zakat expenses.
