United Wire Factories Co. (Aslak) reported a net profit of SAR 15.5 million for the first nine months of 2018, marginally higher year-on-yeAR (YoY) due to decreased zakat expenses.

Net profit for the third quarter came in at SAR 487,000, plunging 93.2 percent YoY on account of lower net sales as a result of the ongoing recession in construction sector. Aslak also cited fierce pricing competition, and the negative effect of summer holidays and the Hajj season on the sector.

 

Compared to the previous quarter, net profit fell 93.3 percent.
