Al Akaria’s net profit drops 7% in Q1

Saudi Real Estate Co. (Al Akaria) reported a net profit of SAR 44.6 million for Q1 2018, a decline of 6.5 percent year-on-year (YoY), due to higher general and administrative expenses as well as zakat provision.

 

A decline in profit share from the company’s associate, along with lower returns on short-term Murabaha investments also weighed on the figures.

On a sequential basis, the first-quarter net profit rose 11.5 percent, backed by higher revenue and a relative decrease in operating expenses.
