Saudi Arabia’s stocks rose for second consecutive session on Tuesday, with the benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) surging 1.4%, or 112 points, to close at 8,369 points, the highest close in 8 months.
Over 482 million shares, worth SAR 11.7 billion, were traded, with advance-decline ratio at 159:35.
Blue chip SABIC rose 0.6% to SAR 88.80, while banking major Al Rajhi gained 1.7% to SAR 66.80.
Gulf Union climbed 2.4% to SAR 21.30, as the firm’s shareholders approved merger with Al-Ahlia Insurance Co. through capital top-up of SAR 229.5 million.
Raydan and Amana Insurance closed nearly limit up at SAR 24.88 and SAR 39.15, respectively.
On the other hand, MEDGULF declined 4.8% to SAR 25.05. The company’s board recommended 12.5% capital cut and SAR 350 million capital top-up through rights issue.
