Middle East Paper Company (MEPCO) reported a net profit of SAR 21.42 million in the first half of 2017, a 79.6 percent plunge year-on-year (YoY), attributed to recording nearly SAR 92 million in non-recurring profit from expropriated land and premises in Q2 2016, in addition to higher financing expenses.

The Saudi company’s net profit for the second quarter dropped 79.4 percent YoY to SAR 18.17 million.

 

When compared to the previous quarter, Q2 2017 net profit increased more than five-fold on higher sales and selling prices, and lower selling and distribution expenses.
