Tadawul had approved amendments to the Short-Selling Regulations and the Securities Borrowing and Lending (SBL) Regulations, which came into effect on March 6, 2022.

A short-selling transaction means any sale of a listed security that is borrowed sufficiently to match the selling order, or the seller has exercisable and unconditional rights to borrow, in accordance with the SBL Regulations.

Entering into short sale transactions as a seller with any of the persons permitted to invest in the market is permitted, in accordance with the relevant executive regulations and market rules.
