The Idle Lands Program issued more than 4,600 invoices for undeveloped land fees within the first round of the second phase in Makkah, Jeddah and Dammam.
The program pointed out that the invoices were issued on Dec. 29, 2022, covering 3,500 land plots within the announced urban scope across the abovementioned cities, Saudi Press Agency reported.
It, moreover, stated that the invoices exceeded 16,000 in total, since the program’s initial launch, within the scope of the applicable cities.
The program calls on owners to initiate developing their lands or to pay the fee within a year as of the date of the decision issuance.
It is noteworthy that the program made amendments, to enable more than one phase in a single city.
Moreover, the ministry conducts a periodic review on the cities to decide on full or partial application or suspension of land fees, in order to complete a certain phase, and move to the next within the same city.
A royal decree, issued in August 2020, stipulates that Idle Lands Program invoices shall be considered as contracts, concessions, and penal documents, in compliance with the Kingdom’s revenue system.
