Saudi Steel Pipe narrows Q1 2021 loss to SAR 8.5 mln

Saudi Steel Pipe Co. narrowed its net loss after Zakat and tax to SAR 8.5 million for the first quarter of 2021, from SAR 17.8 million in the same period last year.

 

The company attributed the drop in losses to lower administrative expenses mainly due to the reduction of structural costs and service indemnity costs.

 

The company also cited other reasons including lower financing charges and higher trade receivables impairment charges.

 

It was partially offset by the share of loss in an affiliate, Global Pipes Co., amounting to SAR 2.99 million, and lower Zakat and tax credit in Q1 2020.
